Favorite Click of the Day: Russ Osterweil in TTH

This past March I profiled the work of photographer Russ Osterweil. (see that profile HERE:) I love his work and Russ says that one of the goals within his work is to create something deeper within his images as he is tired of seeing predictable and soulless images over and over.

Osterweil's work has been profiled in a 14 page feature in the current issue of Ticket to Hell Check it out HERE:

Favorite Cover Boy of the Week: Brandon Rubendall on NEXT

Last weeks cover boy for Next Magazine is one of the hottest men currently gracing the Broadway Stage, actor Brandon Rubendall currently seen as a lead dancer in one of the most exciting and talked about production in years, 'Spider-Man Turn off the Dark' .

Brandon has been a favorite of mine since first seeing him performing in Broadway Bares Solo Strips. Brandon has such an incredible body and face, so tall and his intoxicating dance moves (watch a bit below) and personality will make you a fan.

Below: Brandon attending 'Spider-Man Turn off the Dark' Opening Night After Party.

Brandon makes his Broadway debut in Spider-Man but has performed in local and national productions of Hairspray, West Side Story, Altar Boyz, 42nd Street, Crazy For You and the Radio City Xmas Spectacular. Brandon can also be seen in various commercials including one for C&A (Brazil) featuring Beyoncé and in The Big Gay Musical.

Unless you live under a rock you know the past year has been one filled with turbulence for all those involved in the Spider-Man production. Stops and starts, rewrites, firings, injuries (including a foot inury for Brandon). Through all of this the cast has grown stronger and Brandon has been a positive force, supporting his show and his cast since he began rehearsals a little over a year ago. This week 'Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark' finally officially opened and although the reviews were not all great, most noted the improvements in story and production and agree it is an exciting night of theatre.

Above & Below: Brandon By Dirty Sugar.

Originally from Reading Pennsylvania, Brandon has lived in New York for close to three years. Although Brandon acts, dances and sings his first passion is dance.

If your in New York you can check out Brandon and the cast in Spider-Man Turn off the Dark at the Foxwoods Theatre. Buy tickets and find out more about the show HERE: You can also learn more about Brandon at his official site HERE:

Against The Odds: Instinct's new cover guy Phillip Smith

It was back in March I first saw shots of model Phillip Smith. The shots, by Thunder Grey Photo showed not just a great body and a beautiful face, the shots showed an intensity, a determination in Phillip's eyes that warranted further attention.

The determination has certainly paid off. Phillip is Instinct Magazines May Cover model (shot by Mark Oberlin) with a caption reading 'Star in the Making'. Phillip's rise to fame has not come easy and the profile documents the challenges Phillip faced on his journey from his childhood in Ohio to living and working in Los Angeles.

Below: Phillip by Allen Zaki

'I love anime," explains Phillip. "I have a tattoo from an anime series that symbolizes my life. The series is called Naruto, and there is a character that goes through hell. [The character] has a curse mark on his shoulder. Because my life has been full of personal hells, I got [the symbol] as a tattoo'

2 Magazines to Pick up this week!

If your looking for a little reading material for the holiday weekend here are two magazines I would suggest you add to the pile!

Seth Kuhlmann, Zeb Ringle (below), Brian Shimansky and Rick Genest bare all for the latest issue of Arena Homme + Spring/Summer 2011 in a hot story titled “Anatomy Of A Murder” – photographed by famous fashion photographer Steven Klein.
I am still trying to figure out what exactly Steven is saying with the series but the results are thought provoking, provocative and just a little disturbing.

FH favorite Derek Allen Watsonis featured in a stylish and hot new shoot with photographer Brandon Wickenkamp for April's Ink Magazine.

Favorite Magazine Pic of the Day

Favorite Magazine Photo of the Day.

Above: THE GRIEVERS by Mark Seliger
Timothy Hutton, Elizabeth McGovern, Mary Tyler Moore, Donald Sutherland, Judd-Hirsch and Robert Redford.

I did a previous post about my love Robert Redford's Ordinary People. (read that post HERE:). The movie made a big impact on me and I think Hutton's Conrad remains one of the film worlds best performances.

Recently Vanity Fair released their annual Hollywood Issue. Although there were some great articles in the issue, I found the Hollywood photo essay quite weak this year. Making up for this though the shot of the Ordinary People cast today.
